We are proud to share that TIDAL trainee (2026 cohort) Dr. Kathryn Spearman from Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing at The Pennsylvania State University was recently featured in a The Washington Post article, where she provided expert insights on the risks and warning signs associated with intimate partner violence in the wake of recent tragic events. In addition, Dr. Spearman authored a timely piece in The Conversation discussing the risks to mothers and children from intimate partner homicide, emphasizing that these tragedies are often preventable with early recognition and intervention.

๐ 6/27/2025 โ Congratulations to the First Cohort of TIDAL Scholars!
We are proud to announce that the inaugural class of the Project TIDAL (Trauma-Informed Data Science for Abuse Prevention in Lives of Women) Summer Intensive at Emory University has successfully completed their in-person training session.
During this four-day intensive (June 24โ27, 2025), participants engaged in hands-on workshops on big-data analytics (R programming), machine learning, trauma-informed mHealth design, and ethical research practices with vulnerable populations.
Best wishes to all of the scholars as they proceed with designing their research ideas and manuscripts, and thank you to the faculty and partners who made this launch possible!
